The blog has been pretty silent lately. Sorry for that. Life has been very difficult for us during the last month or so. Luke and I have been faced with lots of pain, sickness and death. It’s been a slow process as we recover, but we’re choosing continual trust in our good Father God.
Although I don’t want to share in depth about all the hard things that have been going on, I will give just some of the basics and ask for prayer: We finished Vision Course at the end of May and promptly afterward moved into a new community living situation. We felt like our seasons very drastically shifted and were excited for lots of new things this summer and fall.
However, things seemed to change for the worst as I got very sick and was in bed for about a week straight during the first week of June. We had some possible jobs fall through (since we’re now on the hunt for full-time work), and then on June 13th Luke’s Pappap passed away. We’ve now lost 3 grandparents in a short 6 month period – way too much too quickly. We drove out to PA for the funeral and spent time with the Miller family, then took a small road trip to Virginia (to see the Goods) and then Louisville, KY (to see Luke’s brother and family).
We enjoyed the space and perspective the road trip gave us, and time to get away from it all. Since returning back home we’ve tried to jump back into normal life by continuing the job hunt and such. But as a whole, we’re still pretty downhearted about all the pain and brokenness we’ve been through. I’m still struggling with health complications as well.
Would you please be praying for us? Please pray for hope for out hearts, healing to the pain and sickness, and breakthrough for our lives. We feel stuck in this terrible “ground hogs day” cycle of bad things happening to us every week.
In the midst of this all, we’re continuing to believe in God’s goodness and lovingkindness. But we need lots of love and support right now as we grieve and heal. We’re desperate for God’s light to shine in our darkness.
Thanks to all who are already praying for us. It’s so appreciated. 🙂
